• 1:10,000 scale
• 1:50,000 scale
• 1:100,000 scale
• 1:250,000 scale
• 1:625,000 scale

1:10,000

A highly detailed 'raster' map which is made up of outlines showing the boundaries of buildings, fields, land, roads, rivers etc.

1:50,000

Derived from the popular Ordnance Survey 'Landranger' series, this background is a definitive 'raster' map showing a wide variety of features such as: transport links, 'A' class roads, 'B' class roads and motorways, railways and rail stations, large buildings, built up areas, rivers and streams, tourism information, landmarks and contour lines.

1:100,000

This background is derived from the Philip's 'Road Atlas' series and provides detailed coverage of the road networks within County Durham including motorways, 'A' and 'B' class roads and unclassified roads amongst cities, towns and villages.

This background combines roads, railways and shows cities, towns and villages as wells as many features from the Ordnance Survey 'Road Map' series giving an excellent 'small scale' overview of the County.

This background shows major road networks across County Durham including motorways and 'A' and 'B' class routes. Junctions and service areas are included as well as cities and towns, with national, county and unitary boundaries indicated.
